An Emergent Transdisciplinary Methodology for Effective Collaboration in Ecological Economics

In ecological economics, common themes notwithstanding, there is a lack of consensus in basic views, with no signs convergence. All the while, ecological, economic, and social crises continue to deepen globally. A question arises: philosophical speculation mathematical modeling aside, how can we make progress theory praxis when are mutually incompatible views sources transdisciplinary? This article describes transdisciplinary methodology for effective collaboration that already emergent but which has not yet been identified. The method employed paper allows also an extension traditional empirical method. One looks only output (of, example, disciplines) operative methods generative output. And so, effort interpret author’s writings, one adverts familiar data one’s own experience. Within this broader focus, components methodological solution problem economics begin come into view. More specifically, sample texts from literature reveal eight distinct dependent modes thought expression (or, other words, tasks). Four past-oriented, four future-oriented. It becomes evident that, at time history, these often inadvertently combined semi-random, fragmentary, counter-productive ways. By same token, however, looking future possibilities, contemporary potential will be explicitly centered on Because it grounded rather than discipline-specific output, functional collaboration.
